New Cannabis Trends

Recent years have shown us that cannabis is one of the hottest things around, no matter what the product is. Its versatility and plethora of uses and benefits have helped it dip its hands into several different markets, from various medical and beauty products, to its long standing usage for recreational purposes. What’s more exciting is that with all the momentum cannabis has experienced in the past few years, and how mainstream it has become, it still seems to just be scratching the surface of what it can truly be, and the remainder of 2018 might be the biggest and best year for cannabis to date. Let’s explore what are likely to be some of the biggest new cannabis trends.

Cannabis Will Go Further into the Mainstream

The first trend we can expect to see is a continued decline in the negative stigma surrounding cannabis. More and more people will be exposed the product, know more people who use the product for a variety of reasons, and we will further escape the “silly stoner” narrative that we’ve seen portrayed in movies for decades. This is due to better efforts to educate the public about the true nature of marijuana; more unbiased reporting from the media, more research into the positive and negative effects, and more and more rigorous testing is done of products to ensure consistency and quality. Also, more and more celebrities, from musicians and movie stars to professional athletes are endorsing the products. Plus, more and more cannabis companies are putting money into their branding, packaging and marketing, which only helps to further the legitimacy of the industry.

The Health and Beauty Industry will see a Cannabis Boom

It’s no secret that cannabis has many health benefits, but only recently are the actual how and why being studied, and more and more benefits are being discovered constantly. More and more people are choosing cannabis over pharmaceuticals to help treat their aches and pains, depression, anxiety, insomnia, etc. etc. The slower moving market in that had been cannabis beauty products, but that too will soon be taking off as people are finding out that cannabis can help make you feel and look your best.

Cannabis will be Worth Lots and Lots of Money

Adult-use cannabis became legal in the state of California on January 1st of this year, and the legal market in that state is already estimated at $7 billion. That’s just the tax money generated, but many experts are also predicting that by the end of this year many companies specializing in cannabis will be worth at least $1 billion by the end of the fiscal year. Due to the federally illegal status of cannabis however, most banks refuse to work with cannabis companies, causing many producers to look towards forms of cryptocurrency. However, some cannabis companies are now able to be publicly traded, which only helps to further boost the industry and economy.
